Abode Permanent Housing Project is a Housing First Program that serves 15 chronically homeless adult men in shared housing.  There are two homes conveniently located in Las Cruces, Dona Ana County, New Mexico.  Abode, Inc. owns the property and contracts with the Mesilla Valley Community of Hope for housing program management, administration and supportive services.  Two resident managers live on the property, one managing each home. The project is located on one acre of land. There is a case worker who provides supportive services to residents such as assistance in obtaining income, medical and mental health care, and accessing public transportation. In addition, a goal of the project is to help the residents maintain permanent housing through social interaction and activities.  All of the residents have come from the homeless populations in Las Cruces. If they have income, they pay 1/3 of their income, which helps subsidize the operating costs of the project.
